German Initiative for Competence and Quality certifies specialist clinic for employee-oriented employer culture
The Sportklinik Hellersen has been awarded the 2025 Employer Award by the German Initiative for Competence and Quality (DIKQ). The specialist clinic impressed during an extensive certification process with its employee-oriented corporate culture, transparent structures, and targeted personnel development.
Appreciation as a fundamental attitude
“The Employer Award certification is a valuable recognition of our daily work and our consistent efforts to create a culture characterized by appreciation and cooperation,” says Dirk Burghaus, CEO of Sportklinik Hellersen, explaining: “Especially in the demanding everyday life of a clinic, which is associated with a high level of responsibility and a growing shortage of skilled workers, it is a central concern of ours to create an environment in which our employees can feel comfortable in the long term.”
Cooperation at the Sportklinik Hellersen is characterized by openness, respect, and clear processes. Professional exchange is promoted through interdisciplinary structures, supplemented by opportunities for further training, transparent communication, health-promoting offers, and various employee events.
“Recognizing and supporting our employees is a central part of our clinic's philosophy. This award shows that we are not only constantly developing our structures, but also actively promoting a culture of appreciation in the workplace,” emphasizes Leonie Schaulandt, Head of Human Resources at Sportklinik Hellersen.
Recognition as an outstanding employer
The DIKQ presents the Employer Award annually to companies in the healthcare sector that demonstrate exceptional quality in leadership, organization, and employee retention. The evaluation is based on a two-stage process using a scientifically sound scoring system.
Five key areas are analyzed for the assessment: activities, working environment, training opportunities, remuneration, and management style. An initial analysis and written feedback with individual suggestions for improvement are followed by a second round of assessment. Only institutions that successfully complete both phases receive the award.
