The Hellersen Sports Clinic is one of Germany's leading specialist clinics for orthopedics, trauma surgery and sports medicine. Medical competencies include the treatment of orthopedic injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, the implantation of artificial joints (endoprostheses), and sports medicine. The spine center consisting of interdisciplinary teams of conservative orthopedics, neurosurgery and special spine surgery perfectly round off the clinic spectrum in interaction with special pain medicine and plastic and aesthetic surgery.
Whether team physicians or the performance-related care of soccer and Bundesliga referees - our physicians are at home in sports. Founded in 1946, this sports expertise goes hand in hand with decades of experience and in-depth specialization. We always stay on the ball when it comes to further development and use state-of-the-art therapy methods. Non-athletes also benefit from this know-how, because we pay as much attention to them as we do to our amateur and top athletes.
Every year, our team of highly specialized physicians treats around 8,000 inpatients and 40,000 outpatients - including around 500 cruciate ligament and 1,000 shoulder operations and 800 foot surgery procedures. About 2,000 patients with back pain and 1,400 pain patients come to us. The endoprosthetics department performs 850 knee and hip joint operations each year.
