New start at the Hellersen Sports Clinic: physiotherapist becomes personnel officer

First dual student successfully completes training at special clinic

Katharina Krömer associates a very special journey with the Hellersen Sports Clinic. After she had to give up her original profession as a qualified physiotherapist due to an accident at work, she made a new start at the Lüdenscheid-based specialty clinic and completed a dual study program in health management. She has now successfully completed this with a grade of 1.7.

"We warmly congratulate Ms. Krömer on completing her studies and, above all, on this good grade. I can still remember well her start in 2019. At that time, we entered into the cooperation with the private university IU in Dortmund and the decision to offer the practical training for dual studies in health management at the Hellersen Sports Clinic was accordingly new. Training is an important investment in the future - both for the trainees and for us as a company. In order to position ourselves well for the future, we have constantly optimized and expanded our training program in recent years," says Dirk Burghaus, Chairman of the Board of the Hellersen Sports Clinic. In addition to the apprenticeships in nursing and office management, the Hellersen Sports Clinic now employs another dual student in her fourth semester. And the team at the Hellersen Sports Clinic is also looking forward to receiving further applications.

The decision to study for a dual bachelor's degree in health management and the path to the Hellersen Sports Clinic were a new beginning for Katharina Krömer, about which she is very happy today. "I have always enjoyed working with patients and especially with athletes. At the Hellersen Sports Clinic, I was able to stay in the healthcare sector, albeit in a different area. I particularly like the family atmosphere here and the way I was welcomed in all the departments I passed through during this time," says Katharina Krömer. All the more pleasing for the graduate that things will continue for her in the specialty clinic in the future. She now works as a personnel officer at the clinic.

In the coming year, the Hellersen Sports Clinic will again offer a dual study program in health management. Applications are now possible, but must be made separately to the Hellersen Sports Clinic for the practical part of the study and to an appropriate university or university of applied sciences for the school-based part. Ideally, the applicant already has a commitment for a study place, explains Leonie Schaulandt, Head of Human Resources. Applications are possible via the careers page of the Hellersen Sports Clinic at www.sportklinik-hellersen.de/karriere, or by e-mail to karriere@hellersen.de.
