CDU Member of Parliament Dr. Georg Kippels in an exchange with the management of Sportklinik Hellersen
The future challenges in the hospital landscape, such as the upcoming hospital reform and increasing outpatientization, were the predominant topics in an exchange between Dr. Georg Kippels and Dirk Burghaus, CEO of the Hellersen Sports Clinic, when the CDU politician visited the clinic recently. Dr. Georg Kippels is a CDU member of parliament for the Rhein-Erft district and has been a member of the health committee since 2015. He was appointed chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in this and is also chairman and spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in the Global Health subcommittee.
Dr. Georg Kippels and Dirk Burghaus agreed: "The planned hospital reform is urgently needed to maintain the healthcare system. However, it is necessary to act with a sense of proportion so as not to disregard local requirements in particular.
"The issue of health is extremely important for our society and a well-functioning healthcare system is essential. As a member of the Health Committee, it is my personal intention to develop solutions in health policy for comprehensive and high-quality care for people. This requires far-sighted and forward-looking planning, in which highly qualified clinics, such as the Hellersen Sports Clinic, play an important role," said Dr. Georg Kippels. He promised to take the topics discussed to the health committee.
An important factor for health is also prevention. This clearly includes sporting activity, which is why Hellersen Sports Medicine, as part of the Hellersen Sports Clinic, makes an important contribution by actively helping people to get moving. The Hellersen Sports Clinic combines prevention, strong specialization, and the increasing integration of outpatient and inpatient care. Dr. Georg Kippels was therefore particularly taken with the advanced outpatientization plans of the specialty clinic. The clinic management around CEO Dirk Burghaus has already actively dealt with the topic and has expanded and adapted the structures accordingly. This distinguishes a good preparation and lowers already now the costs for the health system.
