The Hellersen Sports Clinic is one of Germany’s leading specialized clinics for orthopedics, trauma surgery, and sports medicine. Nearly 50,000 patients visit us each year to have their orthopedic conditions and injuries treated by our top medical specialists or to undergo joint replacement surgery. As the sports medicine examination center for the State Sports Federation (LSB) and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), our highly specialized team of physicians also advises athletes and evaluates their health and performance. Our range of services is rounded out by plastic and aesthetic surgery, as well as the region’s only Center for Specialized Pain Medicine.
Your responsibilities
- You ensure that services are coded correctly in the DRG system.
- You ensure timely, complete, and up-to-date billing for both outpatient and inpatient services.
- You assist with external quality assurance as well as with data collection and reporting to central registries, and process this data.
- You will optimize service documentation.
- You will serve as the point of contact for physicians and specialist departments regarding coding and billing questions.
- You will assist with the systematic analysis and improvement of medical and organizational processes.
- You will support and conduct internal training programs in the areas of coding as well as nursing and medical documentation.
What you need
- You have a medical or business background in the healthcare sector, such as a degree in nursing or as a medical office assistant, and ideally have completed additional training as a medical coder or have relevant professional experience in medical coding.
- You have a good command of medical terminology as well as basic knowledge of MD management, EBM, outpatient billing (AOP billing), hospital administration, and external quality assurance.
- You are proficient in standard MS Office applications and ideally have experience with hospital information systems, preferably Orbis.
- You work in a structured, independent, and conceptual-strategic manner and impress with your organizational skills, commitment, reliability, resilience, and ability to work in a team.
- You have excellent written and spoken German skills as well as strong communication skills.
