Hellersen Sports Clinic helps shape healthcare of the future

Chairman of the Executive Board Dirk Burghaus guest at Petersberg Prevention Talks

At a place where heads of state and government have met in the past and where Konrad Adenauer presented his cabinet in 1949 - Petersberg - everything revolved around health on Thursday, November 17, 2022. Experts from medicine, science, politics as well as CEOs of service providers such as the German Pension Insurance Rhineland and other associations and foundations came together for the Petersberg Prevention Talks at the Steigenberger Grandhotel in Bonn to talk about the future of the healthcare system.

Crises such as corona, energy, climate or war are accumulating and complicating the already great challenges facing the healthcare system. Against the backdrop of these complex conditions, the network not only endeavored to provide accurate analyses, but also delivered solutions and convincing arguments under the title "Paradigm shift for health" to view health not only from the perspective of disease, but to give more importance to the potentials of prevention and health promotion.

Also invited to the central panel discussion was Dirk Burghaus, Chairman of the Board of the Hellersen Sports Clinic, as an expert on the hospital sector. He discussed the possible ways of health in the future with Dirk Mentzner, Managing Director of the German Pension Insurance Rhineland, Prince Michael von und zu Liechtenstein, co-founder of the International Institute of Longevity and the Longevity Center Europe, and Johanna Dorn, Managing Director of VIALIFE Therapy and Prevention. To this end, more attention should be paid in the future to the financing and promotion of prevention, both politically and among people, and bureaucratic hurdles should be minimized.

"The entire health care system is facing a transformation and, if it is to help people achieve better health in the long term, a paradigm shift. We can only meet the major challenges for the future together and across sectors," says Dirk Burghaus. "In this spirit, we cultivated a constructive and productive exchange at the Petersberg Prevention Talks. It has become apparent that the thought leaders of the future healthcare system here agree on major points about the necessary paths. This gives me a positive outlook for the future," sums up the Chairman of the Board of the Hellersen Sports Clinic.

What are the Petersberger prevention discussions?
This interdisciplinary forum has been held since 2005. Leading representatives from business, technology and science come together to engage in dialogue. The theme changes every year, but is always under the guiding principle of creating innovation and making complexity more manageable. This year, the event was held for the sixth time and was entitled "Prevention of the Future - Paradigm Shift in Health".
