Hellersen Sports Clinic donates 2,170 euros to Stadtsportverband Lüdenscheid e.V. and Kreissportbund Märkischer Kreis e.V.
The Hellersen Sports Clinic has donated 2,170 euros to support children and young people in sports. Yesterday, Monday, October 18, Clinic Director Dirk Burghaus presented a donation of 1,085 euros each to the Lüdenscheid City Sports Association (SSV) and the Märkischer Kreis District Sports Association (KSB).
This donation was made possible by the willingness of the sports clinic employees to donate. After any kind of events had to be cancelled in the past 1.5 years due to corona, the clinic management thanked the employees for their daily commitment with a summer party. Under the slogan "#TeamHellersen goes Mamanuca", the clinic rented the city beach "Mamanuca" in Lüdenscheid for two days and they let the evening end as a team at an after-work event. A better Corona location in the summer months and the 3G requirements (recovered, vaccinated, tested) made this possible.
The beautiful evening was combined with a good cause. While food and drinks were covered by the clinic, an entrance fee of 10 euros per person was charged. This raised a total of 2,170 euros. The proceeds have now been donated 50 percent each to KSB MK e.V. and SSV Lüdenscheid e.V.
The municipal sports association would like to use the sum to give children and young people from socially disadvantaged families access to sport, for example by covering the cost of initial equipment or membership fees. "That's where the donation comes in very handy, of course," says Michael Meyer, spokesman for the city sports association. The KSB would also like to invest the donation in the promotion of children and young people and plans to offer children exercise opportunities during the vacations as well, as Anja Esser, second chairwoman of the KSB, reports. "I am pleased that we are supporting both children, young people and sport in this way," said hospital board member Dirk Burghaus during the donation handover.
